Buy and Hold Bitcoin or other Cryptocurrencies with an IRA LLC or Solo 401(k)

Don’t allow your account to be raided for 10% of its value just to invest in Bitcoin

There’s a better way

Invest in Bitcoin or the Cryptocurrency of your choice

Use the exchange of your choice

Hold the wallet yourself

Cut the Custodian out of the loop

Other companies charge up to 10% of your Bitcoin purchase as a fee

Save money by paying only a one-time setup fee, and flat annual fees

When the IRS determined that Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies would be treated as property in IRS Notice 2014-21, it was confirmed that retirement accounts could invest in and hold these exciting digital currencies.

If you’re here, you’ve probably heard of something called a Self-Directed IRA. Self-Directed IRAs are great, but the problem with them is that the Custodian gets to set the rules, and they generally charge you an arm and a leg in asset and transaction fees. One Bitcoin IRA company charges up to 10% of your Bitcoin purchase, just to let you buy Bitcoin. Ouch.

What we do is much better. By utilizing a Check Book IRA or a Solo 401(k), you’re able to invest in what you choose, when you choose, and lower your fees dramatically along the way. And it’s not just Bitcoin; you can buy real estate, precious metals, do offshore investments, private equity, and just about anything else you can think of.

The Check Book IRA LLC

With a Check Book IRA, you pair a self-directed IRA and LLC that you are the Manager of. You have direct control, you write the checks, and you decide which exchange to use, where and how you want to hold the wallet, and you don’t need to worry about some Custodian charging your ridiculous fees to invest.

The Solo 401(k)

With a Solo 401(k), things get even better. How great would it be to be able to be your own Custodian? With the Solo 401(k), that’s exactly what you get to do. Contribute up to $54,000 or $60,000 each year, depending on your age; make a loan from your own 401(k) to yourself for up to $50,000 for up to 5 years, and employ the Roth 401(k) to capture Bitcoin profits in a tax-free account.

Both structures generally take 3-4 weeks to set up, and we charge a flat fee for the setup, and flat annual fees.
